Commercial Experience:
Pete Doyle started working life in retail in 1986 for large UK and global retailers such as M&S, Thorn EMI, Waitrose, Toys R Us and Hamleys. Pete launched several online projects for these retailers in addition to ecommerce consultancy with Direct Wines. Pete successfully raised £1m venture capital to help his old school setup an online health and safety company supporting teachers doing school trips.
Pete established his social media and ecommerce technology and training company, Socialnetit.com in 2008. Pete helps organisations of any size to grow their online profile and develop internal staff communities. Clients include schools, universities, retailers, musicians, start ups and business support networks [www.socialnetit.com].
Music Experience:
Pete has been a registered guitar teacher since 1998 with Registry of Guitar Tutors [www.rgt.org]. He has helped more than 50 students gain electric guitar grades with RGT and LCM. He founded the Reading Rock Academy in 2008 with a passion to help kids and adults learn to play music [www.readingrockacademy.com].
Pete is qualified at grade 6 music theory and practical for electric guitar and is currently studying a guitar teaching diploma with London College Of Music through RGT. Pete gained an adult teaching certificate in 2003.
The Reading Rock Academy holds an annual charity Battle of the School Bands competition which is open to over 150 secondary schools in the Reading and Berkshire/Hampshire areas. The competition gives school bands a chance to play live in front of 1,000 people at The Hexagon, Reading’s premiere live music venue.
